School Photos
I lived near Wisbech in Leverington from around 1940 to 1952. I went to the Queens School and had several photos taken. These were school groups, football first team, Sparton House team pics etc. I haveoften wondered if any were kept in local photographers archives. I remember Lillian Ream being one of the formost. I also wondered whether the school has any from those distant days. If anyone can help shed light on it i would appreciate it,

Hi bugsalone Your posting about pictures taken at Queens school wellI attended from 1946-1950 and Ihave a picture taken in the school playground of the whole school. This picture is about 24inches long x 6-7 inches wide, and I have had many a long session with friend looking at it and trying to remember as many names as we could. RE SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS
If it was anything like my own school days back in the 40’s. Families just couldn’t afford to buy copies of school photographs, the proofs seemed good enough? Being involved with CCAN the Wisbech group, there are one or two school groups on their website but not as far back as the 40’s. If anyone has copies of school groups I would like to scan them and add them to the website. Local history is important and should be recorded. Early family wedding photographs together with family details is very important and can be rewarding history wise. I can be contacted at odscards@aol.com
