Tracing George Albert Woodoskie/Hill Family born Wisbech I am currently researching my family history and I have discovered that my great grandmother married a 30 year old George Albert Woodoskie in Cardiff in 1908. On the Marriage Certificate it states that his father was a George Albert Woodoskie (deceased), Master Mariner.
In the 1881 Census, a George A Woodoskie, aged 4, was born in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, and was living with his Grandmother, Martha Hill, at 18 Whitby Street, Wisbech. Martha was aged 77 at the time, a widow, and she herself was born in Wisbech in about 1804.
In the 1841 Census, Martha Hill, then aged 35, was living with her family in Russell Street, Wisbech. Her husband was George aged 35 and described as a Mariner. At that time, they had two children, John aged 5, and Sarah aged 3.
I can only assume that George Albert Woodoskie Senior, married a Hill sometime in the 1870’s.
If anyone has any information that could help me in my search for the Hill/Woodoskie family relatives I would be very grateful.
Many thanks to all of you who have read this message.
