I'm looking for any trace of William Norman Howell(s) born about 1829, my Wife's Gt Gt Grandfather. Sentenced at Wisbech, Cambridgeshire on 07 Jan 1846, to 7 years penal servitude for stealing boots. Departed Isle of Wight (Parkhurst Prison) aboard \"Ameer\" 1 Nov. 1848, Arr. Fremantle 2 Feb 1849. His Fathers name was given as James, but I can't be sure of that. Thank you.

Hi Spike The closest that I can find is this family on the 1841 census Charles Howell 40 farmer born in county Ann " 30 born in county William " 10 born in county John " 5 born in county living at Tydd St Giles, Wisbech, Cambs H0107/ 78/16 folio 4 page 3 Tydd St Giles is only a few miles from Wisbech regards ricky

John Howell 40 ag lab born in county Elizabeth " 35 " Eliza " 15 " William " 12 " Thomas " 11 " Maragret " 11 " John " 2 " living at Potato Row, Clenchwarton, Wisbech, Norfolk H0 107/ 770/1 folio 3 page 1 Clenchwarton is about 15 miles from Wisbech and about 3 miles from Kings Lynn ricky
